A practical safety layer for the moments that matter
SafeKid Alert today announced the launch of its Bluetooth-based phone safety layer, designed to help caregivers notice when they walk away from a vehicle with a child still inside. The system connects to a vehicle through Bluetooth and sends a timely nudge to the caregiver's phone.
At the start of a drive, the app gently asks whether a child or pet is in the vehicle. When the caregiver walks away and the phone detects the Bluetooth distance change, SafeKid Alert nudges the phone with an alert. An optional vehicle-horn alert can sound when a compatible OBD-II Bluetooth adapter is connected; the adapter is sold separately.
Built around technology families already carry, SafeKid Alert does not require a dedicated sensor for its vehicle mode. It is designed to create an additional moment of awareness before a forgotten passenger faces dangerous heat or cold, while active supervision remains essential.
The answer was already in every parent's pocket — a phone and a Bluetooth car.
The same layer extends to pets
Child safety is the primary use case, but SafeKid Alert is designed for any passenger who cannot open a vehicle door. Pet owners can use the same Bluetooth-based reminder for dogs and cats, without a separate pet mode or second subscription.
Vehicles can become dangerous for pets as well as children. SafeKid Alert is intended to add one more moment of awareness when a caregiver walks away, while keeping responsibility for active supervision with the person behind the wheel.

SafeKid Alert is a supplementary safety tool, not a substitute for active supervision. Always visually confirm a child or pet's location before leaving your vehicle. Bluetooth proximity detection depends on signal strength, vehicle compatibility, and phone settings and may not detect every situation. The app does not automatically contact 911 or any emergency service.
