1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use SafeKid Alert:

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password hash created at registration.
  • Location data: GPS coordinates collected while the app is active to power vehicle proximity alerts.
  • Bluetooth data: device identifiers and signal strength of paired vehicle Bluetooth adapters used for proximity detection.
  • Device information: device type, operating system version, and app version, collected for support and diagnostics purposes.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To detect when a child may have been left in a vehicle and trigger timely alerts to the registered account.
  • To send push notifications and in-app alerts to warn caregivers of a potential forgotten-child situation.
  • To improve detection accuracy and overall app reliability over time.
  • We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it to data brokers.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest. Location data is retained only as long as necessary to operate the proximity alert service. We follow industry-standard security practices and regularly review our safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with infrastructure providers — such as cloud hosting and push notification services — under data processing agreements that require them to protect your information. We may disclose data if required by applicable law, court order, or government authority.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to request deletion or export of the data we hold about you:

  • Data deletion: contact us to request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Data export: contact us to request a copy of the data we hold about you in a portable format.

6. COPPA Compliance

SafeKid Alert is designed to protect children, but the app does not collect personal information directly from children. Account registration is restricted to users who are 18 years of age or older, as described in our Terms & Conditions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.
